Terms of Service

Effective October 10, 2026 · Last updated October 10, 2026

The short version

Grail is a free app for keeping track of the sports cards you own. Your collection and photos belong to you, and you can export or delete them at any time. Grail is a tool for organizing your cards. It does not give financial advice, and it does not appraise or authenticate cards. These terms include an agreement to resolve disputes through individual arbitration (see section 15).

1. Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Grail Cards LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("Grail," "we," "us," or "our"). They cover the Grail app for iPhone, the website at grail.cards, and the emails we send (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who can use Grail

You must be at least 13 years old to use Grail. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use Grail only with the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms for you. You may not use Grail if the law prohibits you from doing so.

3. Your account

Most of Grail requires an account. You can create one with your email address and a password, with Sign in with Apple, or with your Google account. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, Apple or Google confirms who you are, and their own terms and privacy policies also apply to that sign-in. Please give us accurate information, keep your password and the accounts you sign in with secure, and let us know right away at support@grail.cards if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Each account is for one person, and you may not sell or transfer it. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app.

4. Price

Grail is free to download and use. If we offer paid features in the future, we will show you the price and the terms before you buy, and you will never be charged for anything you did not agree to. Purchases made in the iPhone app go through Apple's in-app purchase system and also follow Apple's terms, including Apple's rules on cancellations and refunds.

5. Your collection and photos

You own the information and photos you add to Grail ("Your Content"), and that does not change when you use the Service. To run the Service, you give us permission to store, copy, process, and display Your Content. That permission covers showing your collection to you, reading card details from your photos and spreadsheets (including through the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy), and keeping backups. This permission is worldwide and free of charge. It lasts only while Your Content is in the Service, and it ends when you delete it, except for copies in backups that have not yet expired. We may also use information that has been aggregated or stripped of anything that identifies you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Please add only photos and information that you have the right to use. Card images in Grail are for your personal record-keeping.

6. Using Grail responsibly

We want Grail to be a good place for collectors, so you agree not to:

7. Card details and values

Grail fills in card details automatically from photos and spreadsheets. These tools can make mistakes, so please check the details before relying on them. The totals Grail shows, such as what you paid, what you sold a card for, and your gain or loss, are calculated from the numbers you enter.

Grail is a tool for organizing your collection. Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and Grail does not appraise, grade, or authenticate cards. Sports cards are collectibles, and their prices can rise or fall. Any decision to buy, sell, or hold a card is yours.

Player names, team names, league and card-maker brands, and grading-company names belong to their owners and are used only to describe the cards you own. Grail is not affiliated with or endorsed by any league, team, player, card maker, or grading company.

8. Our app and brand

We own the Grail app, the website, and the Grail name, logos, and design, and they are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for Your Content, these Terms do not give you any ownership of the Service. As long as you follow these Terms, we give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service. If you send us feedback or ideas, we are free to use them without owing you anything.

9. Other companies' services

Grail works with services run by other companies, such as Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, and the App Store. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Grail at any time, and you can delete your account from the Profile screen in the app. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates a risk to Grail or other users. When we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your collection. We may also change or stop offering parts of the Service. If we shut down the Service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your collection. Sections 7, 8, and 11 through 18 continue to apply after your account ends.

11. Disclaimers

GRAIL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT CARD DETAILS IT FILLS IN WILL BE ACCURATE, OR THAT YOUR CONTENT WILL NEVER BE LOST. PLEASE USE EXPORT COLLECTION TO KEEP YOUR OWN COPY OF YOUR CARDS.

12. Limits on liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, GRAIL AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US $100.

Some places do not allow certain warranties to be disclaimed or certain damages to be limited, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that the law does not allow us to limit.

13. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against Grail because of Your Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or someone else's rights, you agree to cover the resulting losses and reasonable legal costs, to the extent the law allows.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute is not subject to arbitration, it will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts.

15. Resolving disputes

Talk to us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly. Before starting a formal dispute, please email support@grail.cards with a description of the problem. Both of us agree to try in good faith to resolve it for at least 30 days.

Arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and Grail agree that any dispute about the Service or these Terms will be decided by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court. The arbitration can be held by video, by phone, in writing, or in your home county. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may ask a court to stop the misuse of intellectual property.

No class actions. To the extent the law allows, disputes will be handled only on an individual basis and not as part of a class, collective, or representative action, and there will be no jury trial.

Opting out. You can opt out of this section by emailing support@grail.cards within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Please include your name, your account email, and a clear statement that you want to opt out of arbitration.

16. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded Grail from Apple's App Store, these additional terms apply:

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as Grail changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless it has to take effect sooner for legal or security reasons. If you keep using Grail after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to them, you can delete your account.

18. General terms

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Grail about the Service. If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
